"Here is the spot to stay in Rome. Hotel Abruzi. It is directly across the square from the Pantheon, and walkable to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Novona and many other sites. In other words it is very centrally located, and has great views and is in the middle of the real Rome. The rooms were classically smaller as you will find in a old local Roman hotel, however they were clean and very comfortable. You are very close to the Spanish Steps and within walking distance of many other of the main attractions, and you are also close to the Metro for anything out of walking distance. "I typically stay at Marriott properties when I travel, but I found this property online right around the corner from the Trevi Fountain and took a gamble, which paid off. The staff (on all shifts) were awesome! They spoke English well and was always polite and friendly when engaged. The property was within walking distance (25 minutes or less) of most sites to see and a bit longer to the Vatican. Breakfast delivered to my room was a great touch as I didn’t have to leave to seek out the meal....
