"The service was terrible. We booked a room online that said SLEPT 4…. It was a queen sized bed, in a room with barely any walking room around the bed. Literally 2 people would have been squished, so we had to upgrade (since we had 2 children with us). Online it said that there were TWO restaurants on site (one was closed and they didn’t mention that).. online it also said they had childcare (they didnt) We were told free parking - it was 30 euro. No one spoke English. So frustrating....

Owner kind enough to sell me a beer even though restaurant had closed. She found me a charger for my IPad, Room was small but comfortable, clean and priced well. "Sleepy, off the beaten track, great location. Slight language barrier, but using some German and 'sign language' helped. Staff were very distant, but our stay was still a success. "The room changed just before arriving not for better. We agreed, needed a place to stay. Got a spare key, paid a deposit what was to pay back when returning. The key was returned as promised, the deposit not. I have asked it several times now. The impression they left is not nice."

Schönheide im Erzgebirge: Gedenkstein auf dem 1996 angelegten „neuen Friedhof“. Dieser Gedenkstein soll alle anderen früher in Schönheide aufgestellten Erinnerungstätten an Opfer des nationalsozialistischen Terrors ersetzen. So gab es am Rathaus ein an den Schönheider Arbeiter und Kommunisten Rudi Radecker (geboren 24. Oktober 1914) erinnerndes Mahnmal. Er wurde 1942 zum Tode verurteilt und hingerichtet. Auf dem alten Friedhof stand ein Denkmal für die Opfer der Todesmärsche im April 1945. Mitte April 1945 wurden vor dem Vorrücken der US-amerikanischen Truppen Insassen von Außenlagern des Konzentrationslagers Flossenbürg (die es auch in Legenfeld und Schönheide gab) in Richtung Tschechoslowakei getrieben. Dabei wurden erschöpfte Menschen erschossen. Auf dem alten Friedhof in Schönheide wurden über 30 dieser Opfer bestattet. Auf diesem Mahnmal stand: Hier ruhen die von Nazihorden unschuldig Hingemordeten.
