"This was a short overnight stay. The hotel is very clean with ground floor being a large public bar with new function suite and Indian food offer to rear. Theres a fair sized old fashioned restaurant too. Rooms are clean and well maintained, lovely full English breakfast served quickly . Very polite owner and staff - all in all good value"

"I decided, very last minute, to use a hotel as we were celebrating a friend's birthday nearby. I had been given a room on the top floor, but there wasn't a lift and I have a knee problem, so I was swiftly swapped to a ground floor room. The room was excellent value for money. Even though the hotel is only rated 3*, it had an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee, a TV, a safe, free wi-fi, laundry service, and a gorgeously comfortable bed. It was also a nicely quiet room with an excellent level...

"Amazing room warm and cosy spacious matteress was a little soft for me but only a little thing on the overall stay . Lovely and quiet great tea tray and shower gels handwashes etc of a great quality (john lewis) , brilliant wifi and free and good freeview tv with good signal... overall great country cottage feel. "Stayed on a routine trip to Melton Mowbray. The White Lion was reasonably priced, warm and comfortable, with WiFi that worked well enough for me to work using Teams. The owners and their staff were friendly and helpful. The English breakfast was cooked to perfection and as it was included in the price just making it very good value. I travel every week, and it is nice to find a warm room as well as a warm welcome."
