"Very nice place decent location but unfortunately when they electricity goes out, they don’t have back up generators and it’s really hot and muggy in your room. They give you a candle but with no lighter to turn it on I think for the amount of money you spend it should have a little back up generator to have the AC working. They only have a generator working on the common areas as in kitchen and bar. I guess they do that to keep the revenue coming in. "

"The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We really felt welcomed and safe and they even allowed us a late checkout due to our tour running late. I would absolutely stay here again!"

"Our room was right beside the restaurant so it was quite noisy till about 11pm. Felt a bit claustrophobic in the room. We will not stay there again. Food at the restaurant was pretty good and the staff was very pleasant and warm."

"Newer boutique hotel. Very clean. Very kind and accommodating staff. A few steps from the beautiful, mostly empty beach. They have starlink WiFi service which is a plus. Restaurant is delicious. "

"Casa Baloo is truly the definition of “home away from home” and a hidden gem in El Cuyo. From the second we arrived, the wonderful staff and owners, Lucy and Francisco, welcomed us as if we were family and helped us settle in. "Lovely hotel steps from the beach (there are no beach clubs in El Cuyo so this is as close as it gets!). Room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony with a hammock and a roof terrace with amazing sunset views. Staff at the hotel were really helpful and the food is good, especially the paella nights. If you want to relax and explore then El Cuyo is a great place and this hotel is a great place to stay."

"My stay at the San Felipe Inn was pleasant. Everyone was accommodating and helpful. I arrived early and the young woman allowed me to leave my things in the room. The room was clean. They even had washcloths, something rare to find in most of Mexico. "

"Great view! Location was very nice and right across from the malecon. The pool was better than expected and great for cooling off in. The staff were very friendly and especially Bernaby (Barnaby) and Julie. We loved walking to Sendero Peten Mac and making use of a mototaxista Juan who we used for an excursion to San Felipe and Las Coloradas and playa Cancunito. Juan has a mototaxi that has good shade and he was friendly and pointed out crocodiles in mangroves at the side of the road. It was only 20 minutes by mototaxi to San Felipe and 40 minutes to Las Coloradas. You can contact Juan through the hotel’s front desk staff. The posted hotel rules regarding no outside beverages or food even in rooms, seemed very unreasonable and so we ignored the rule. We did also eat and drink in the hotel restaurant area. "
