The washbasin area looks modern and is well equipped with amenities, including a face steamer. Separate toilet is large. Bathtub is deep for a good soak with a nice view of the outside. "Comfortable stay with a well equipped kitchen and we enjoyed the spa bath. However, it was let down in a couple of respects - the floor was not as clean as it could have been and there was very limited hanging space. Also, although the communication prior to arrival was clear the check in process itself was unnecessarily bureaucratic and time consuming. Having registered each member of our party online prior to arrival we then, on arrival, still needed to submit individual photos of each member...

"Stayed at Aratashi Minakami for 5 nights and it was incredible. The rooms are large and comfy. Spacious enough for 3 double beds and luggage! Our package came with breakfast and dinner and every meal was gourmet level. The private hot tub on the room balcony is a special touch and great for enjoying the sounds and view of the river below while soaking aching muscles after a day of snowboarding. Well down Aratashi Minakami team! I’ll be back again! "

"This is a small hotel with limited hotel rooms. Some rooms need to shared bath. We stayed in a Japanese style room with a private bath. The room is not fancy but clean and confortable. The hotel is walkable distance to most of the attractions, only 2 min walk to Shokyo bridge, 15 mins walk to Toshogu Shrine, and 18 mins walk to Tobu-Nikko train station. The Heritage shuttle bus stop 7 is right in front of the hotel. "

"Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....
