"The Cain Valley is steeped in tradition and about as far from todays modern chain hotels as you can get. Great service, fair prices, good beer and enthusiastic staff. Very much a breath of fresh air. Its also well frequented by the locals - which is usually a good sign. but can get a little noisy at closing time. So recommend you ask for a room not over the Public Bar."

"Such a shame this is a tale of two halves. Staff all lovely, helpful and go out of their way to help you. The problem is in the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises and rooms inside and out. A lot of money has been spent on the rooms but not cleaned properly and why have a posh coffee water heater for beverages in room which you cant fill up under the tap??? Toilet stained and bed cover split windows cobwebs and thick dust. The back outside area with a large covered seating canopy looking onto...

"From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome and at home. Colin was always attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay trouble free. Lisa’s breakfasts were awesome and Izzy our Spaniel was made to feel at home too with dog blanket and bowl. Ideally situated for the climbing/walking of Cadier Idris and the pubs and bars in town.
