"Van Der Stel was really well located in Stellenbosch, but had a great calmness down my residential street. It’s a short drive to downtown, but very close to the university. The pool and garden are beautiful, and the rooms are clean, if a little more dated than the photos. Breakfast is fab. Would recommend!"

"We stayed here 30 years ago and it was great to be back in beautiful Paarl. New owners are very friendly and so helpful... their little doggie snowy so sweet. Its a listed building and having breakfast in the old part of the house is so cool. That is a true South African breakfast. Delicious. Never tasted a eggs bennie that good."

"Rooms was clean and comfortable. Was close to the restaurant and swimming pool. Was very quiet and peaceful. Nice for strolling around the grounds. We enjoyed the venue. Had a nice breakfast at the restaurant next to the pool and a great lunch in the restaurant at the hotel."

"The property was comfortable enough with friendly staff. Parking offered with electric security gate. Only wish the staff would advise noisy patrons to be cognisant of others by not making noise in the early hours of the morning when some of us are still resting (I struggle to sleep as is). Nothing as annoying as people screaming or talking loud or children crying non-stop at 3am or 4am in the morning. It's unacceptable!"
