"We had a fantastic 6 night stay at Surf N Spice, the guys who run the place are amazing. They made our trip so easy and relaxing. Huge comfy room with excellent aircon and a nice balcony to sit and relax on. The breakfast they serve as incredible, best we have had in 6 months travelling. It's exciting that they are constantly developing and improving the property including a new cafe which was nearly finished when we left and looked great. Lots to do in the area including 2 different beaches...

"Overall stay was good. However, the bathrooms are visible inside the room. Not recommended for a family to stay inside the room. I kindly suggest to put up curtains or a blurred glass to have privacy. Also, the balconies are connected to each room with a sliding door which is kind of unnecessary i feel. "The owner greated us with a nice cold scented towel to wipe our faces and hands on, which was very welcoming after our hot journey and a refreshing iced tea. Our bedroom was lovely and big and spotless. A nice big bathroom with plenty of hot water. The top terrace was lovely with the sea views whilst eating great food. You could walk to the beach in 5 minutes where you can find lots of great restaurants."

It really is the best hotel on Mawella beach (and maybe even in whole of southern province :) The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly, including owner Xander, it's absolutely right on the beach , the food is great. "We arrived there after a 5 hr drive to find it closed, actually more like abandoned. There was no one working there much less staying there. Luckily we found a beautiful place down the beach. Very disheartening that Expedia would take bookings for a place that’s not even open. Worst of it is that even after we notified Expedia you can still book it !!"
