"We used this hotel while walking the nearby Kennet & Avon Canal path. Friendly welcome. The room was spacious; the bed amazingly comfortable. Despite facing a main road, there was no road noise whatsoever due to the efficient triple glazing. A fridge would have been handy, but not a biggie. Room and bathroom very clean. Evening dinner and breakfast very good - tasty and fairly priced. Overall excellent value and would happily recommend and would use again if in the area."

"This is a cheap and cheerful place to stay that fits the bill for night or two. It’s close to the Swindon Discount shopping centre and it is right beside the M4. "My stay was for one night as i was travelling from the Midlands to do a cycling sportive at The New Forest the following day, with an early start. The staff were very polite and helpful, the room had just been decorated and the only issue was the showerhead could have done with either a good scrub or changing. "Stayed 1night for a business trip, have stayed several times so knew what to expect..opted for a deluxe room but didnt see any difference from a standard room..the room was very small but perfectly formed, had an excellent nights sleep. Lady on reception at check in was lovely despite being very busy, and helped me out with no fuss when i locked myself out of my room. Will stay again next time im in Newbury. "
