"The room was tiny, dirty and stuffy with no AC to help regulate the temperature. We had to pay extra for a bed that I would have assumed came with the room as I booked it for three people. Staff were often not around at the front desk to help, because they were short staffed. Machines in the games room, stopped working (although a discount was offered when this happened). "The building is relatively old (about one century) in the very center of Deventer, an old Dutch city (founded as a city about 1250 years ago). You are literally in the old center, but only a 6 minute walk from the train and bus stations. The original style of the building has been well maintained, sometimes at the expense of practicality. "This hotel property is best described as "Past Due"...very past due. The rooms are very small with very old and very tired beds. Two beds means two very tiny one person (small person) bed with a memory matrass that long lost his memory with a paper thing blanket. One tiny towel but that wasn't a problem as the shower was to small to shower a adult person anyway. The included breakfast was (probably due to staffing problems) not worthy to be mentioned a breakfast. At 9 am there wasn't a lot left...

"While the owners were very pleasant and the bed was comfortable, the floors in the room were disgusting. Lots of dirt on the floors with areas that were sticky. The bathroom floors were tile and very slippery when exiting the shower. There is no storage in the room for your clothes and the television sits below the bed making it impossible to view. The room could also use a mirror in addition to the small mirror above the bathroom sink. The sheet was dirty but was not changed by housekeeping....
