"Short stay for a Halloween party at Mabie Farm. I didn’t get out to see any sites after that as my waterproof Vessie’s failed miserably. Wet feet, soaked socks plus no other shoes to get out and about in. My own fault. The hotel staff have been amazing ( let me into dining room in slippers)except for the wake-up call a day early to vacate my room😂. I can’t give a review on property except it looks amazing in pictures I have seen. Farther out than I expected from city centre. I wanted to see the shops but I unfortunately couldn’t get out. It is sad to have come this far and not get the Dumfries experience. Hotel is not to blame but I don’t see me coming back."

"Fanatsic team helpful staff. Food is fabulous. On our way north Moffat and in particular the Famois Star hotel is a lovely stooping off point. Service is excellent...thos is our 6th stay it just gets better and better."
