"I had a unique and memorable stay at River Bend. While the property itself is a bit run-down and has the feel of a bargain-basement summer camp, it was surprisingly clean and comfortable inside. "Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Once you arrive in Belize City, you are chartered to a marina (15 min) then taken by boat (30 min) to the island. "We were the only guests on the property which we found to be odd. You couldn’t eat outside or sit on the beach because of the insects. "Got to the hotel with hopes of a good stay. Durning the first couple hours we went without power a few times. The room only had a jacuzzi tub no option for a shower unless you used the contraption next to the toilet. Water wasn't warm at all. You could barley getinto the room due to the placement of the bed. The bed had dirt or sand in it which made it uncomfortable until it was dusted out. Not a100%sure but possible bed bugs or other bugs in the bed. All in all i was disappointed for the price...
