No fault if their's but a building site opposite didnt make for peaceful time. we loved the spacious room and mahogany floors and old world charm.

We stayed here one night prior to leaving for the airport the next morning. Its a good and safe option for this, and its very close to the ferry terminal. Despite stories of Belize City being dangerous, the area around The Great House Inn is safe, even at night. There are a couple restaurant options very close by. Rooms are large, and have an old British feel to them, though not very modern. I would stay here again if it was for a night.

The only negative was all the construction in the area, which is not the hotels fault. Our room was very comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There are a couple of things to be aware of. The restaurant on the first floor only serves breakfast. However, there are several dinning options within walking distance. The other thing to consider, is if you have mobility issues as I do, there is no elevator, and all bedrooms require going up stairs. The stairs are steep. We also really enjoyed the hotel pool a great deal. It was clean and refreshing after a day of walking.

This is a great little property! It’s clean and rooms are as advertised. The location is walkable to the oceanfront and several shops. They had security onsite as well. My only complaint is the breakfast for continental was very expensive per person and consisted of two pastry varieties, bread. One type of cereal and one bowl of fruit. Staff were friendly.

Check in was smooth and the front desk staff was very helpful. The property is 5 -7 min walk to the water taxi terminal. We had arranged a pick up from the airport via the hotel that was a huge benefit. A few restaurants close by which was a plus and we felt safe walking at night. Our room was on 3rd floor and perfect for our stay. A bottle of water and coffee was provided. Will stay here again if we need to spend a night or two in Belize city.

I agree with the other reviews. Great value for the money. However, it is not a resort or a luxurious hotel. Nevertheless there is everything you want, AC in the bed room (only), a view, a pool (i didn't use, i hate hotel pools), decent breakfast, good wifi, clean bathroom and tv with all the us channels (only watched the news). There is a very nice resting area behind the hotel, a bit hidden, right next to the pool.
