"Woman at check in was quick and helpful. Unfortunately the elevators smelled aweful and the pool was not well kept. Slimy stairs and puddles of "froth" left my children uninterested in swimming. The free breakfast was a disappointment, only offering waffles on the weekend, and croissants had specks of mold growing. I have stayed at this location multiple times in the past without feeling disappointed, but after this stay, will most likely not return. The actual room was fine and comfortable."

"Hotel was nice, staff was friendly. But the rooms are not very insulated for sound. Easy to hear doors slamming and our neighbors above and beside us and their full conversations. Great location, good breakfast options in the morning. Overall good stay "

"We had such a great stay at the Hotel Portsmouth! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and although the building was old and you could hear some creaks and pipes ticking, it was not unpleasant. The old building was actually the most charming part. The amenities were excellent and everything was in walking distance. Will definitely stay there again."

"Most comfortable bed I've slept in at any hotel. Tons of extra space. No free breakfast, but there is a breakfast bar that I didn't get a chance to try out. Staff was extremely friendly. The attendant that checked me in even fist bumped me at the end of our conversation. I don't know if it was appropriate, but it made me feel comfortable. "
