"A brilliant construction and location in the stunning gorge location. Lovely room and large patio to enjoy breakfast alongside the roaring river. Parking was manageable at the roadside, and the lift ideal between floors. The owner and waitress were charming and informative, but we were both startled and disappointed at the continuing grumbles from the receptionist, especially when asked about messages that my daughter had sent there."

"I came in December, which is their low season, so I was basically one of the very few people staying at the hotel. The receptionist was only around for the check-in. The cleaning staff only showed up once. The rest of the time, they expect you to call if you need help, which is not realistic for foreign travellers, especially if you are not fluent in French or Italian. The building is locked, so basic safety is not an issue. However, when the internet went out, I had no way to contact anyone...

"The property is located about a mile outside the centre of Calvi and there are a number of excellent restaurants nearby. Calvi is a pretty town with an excellent beach nearby and Corsica is a beautiful island. The hotel has a nice pool and generally good facilities."

"At the Duc de Padoue, the team really cares about their customers’ well being. They go out of their way to help. This includes organizing transport - even beyond Corte. The hotel is walkable from the train station and central to all the sights. Restaurant recommendation was super. The room was renovated and spacious. The breakfast great. "We needed a hotel for one night before our trip to Monaco. We were pleasantly surprised, even though in the middle of nowhere, but only a few kilometers outside Calvi it was clean, comfortable, fully stocked with everything we needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Even a library in case you forgot your book."

"The shower has nothing where to hang the hose, so you have to hold the hose with one hand and try to use the soap with your free hand. I am not used to this torture. No curtains or contaiiner for the water so all the bathroom gets wet. Bad mood of the manager, impolite at worse."
