"The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Samson the caretaker was very efficient and helpful. He also provided an excellent breakfast. I would recommend staying here if you are in transit, however if wanting to tour the area there are probably more picturesque places that would enable you to walk from your accommodation."

"Very beautiful place in tranquil setting with all the needed goods in support. Place was clean and the fire places useful with the cold night. Like the baths in the bathroom making for a very romantic get away and setting"

"There is a braai in the unit (ie in the bedroom) that makes the room reek of smoke. Even opening all the windows didn’t help. Bedding was clean and comfortable but it is down feathers, which is not good for travelers with allergies to that and the smoke. The unit is central which is nice but it is extremely basic and overpriced "

Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. "We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

"Good stay. Anford was very accommodating and met the needs for a 1 nights stay. Close to Silver Sixpence where we attended a wedding. Convenient location. Breakfast was good. However over lunch on Saturday the kitchen was closed which was disappointing but it is the road from Milly Trout and Farm where we got some good quiche’s and sandwiches. "
