"I have stayed here regularly over the years, but havent been since befoe Covid hit. The hotel has been updated since my last visit and the rooms particularly have benefited from the makeover. The lounge and bar and new Orangery are welcoming spaces. The restaurant has also had a similar makeover, the staff were attentive and friendly. Our mains coukd have done with being hotter when they arrived, but that was our only criticism."

Initially I parked on street using the English language enabled parking meter and card payment. I then used the hotel car park, which was quite expensive, for our two day stay. "Overall a vey good place. My only problem was that there wasn't a desk in my room. Luckily the staff let me do my work in the sitting out area next to reception and did support me there. "

"Useful stopover very close to the tunnel. Free parking, clean and rooms at a reasonable rate. Don't expect a character property. There is a restaurant but it looked pretty charmless so we walked for 15 minutes into Cite Europe, where there's a huge choice of food and drink outlets."

"The Upstairs hotel was a very stylish and fun hotel just steps from the beach. The staff was really friendly and helpful! One small point is if you do book one of the small/cheap rooms, they aren't easily accessible via the lifts. You will need to go down a couple of flights of stairs which can be tough with heavy luggage. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Ostend!"
