"The hotel was very clean and comfortable the door codes are a good idea but can be a bit tricky when you are loaded down with luggage. It is the first hotel we have stayed at with no reception or any evidence of someone being there in case of emergency but it seems to work ok. DIY breakfast was also new to us but once we had found the kitchen which was spotless everything fell into place. A couple of minor moans would be some extra bedding would have been useful as the duvet was rather thin. The...

"We only stayed one night, and arrived late, after 10:30 p.m. Unfortunately, the heating had not been switched on, and the room was very cold. Neither of slept well because of the cold, so I'm sorry to say we did not enjoy our stay. The room itself was very nice, clean, and the beds were good. The shower was excellent too."

"Staed one night. Greeted at reception by a lovely lady. Very informative and friendly. Room 14 was a bit dated and tired. Bed not that comfortable but huge ! Pillows ok but one too little and 2 too much. Did not sleep well. Could hear every noise from people next door. Paintwork throughout hotel could do with a refresh. Carpets very worn in places. Service and food in restaurant was very good even though they were busy."

"A lovely independent hotel, located near castle and cathedral. For high street shops its a trip up and down steep hill but worth staying near the top. My room had castle view, room has good amenities . Really enjoyable stay and I recommend staying here or visiting the bar or restaurant. "

"The electric fire in my caravan did not work. The carpets although clean on the surface could do with a deep clean to revive the pile. I reported this to reception. Overhead low flying aircraft every day were very noisy, I know this can't be helped with an RAF base right next door. Otherwise my stay was fine."
