"A run down hotel with a lot needed to bring ip its standard. My tour across Spain and France has seen many fantastic laces to stay for less money. Even the free internet was broken in a town where O2 coverage was poor. Sadly i couldnt wait to leave. The photos give the wrong impression"

"This is a nice hotel that is close to the main square without being too close. The free parking is only free at night and on holidays. It doesn’t have an elevator and the bathroom in our room was in a separate area from the toilet. The staff person was friendly but it was inconvenient to have to wait until 6pm to check in. The bed was comfortable, though, the room was clean and it had a small fridge."

"This converted 18th-century home was the perfect stay for my family. Rooms were beautiful and clean, and the bathroom was a good size. Our room was on the 2nd level, which made me concerned about the street noise, but the area was so quiet and peaceful we slept with ease. We will be back to stay the next time we are in Rocheforte. "This was our first stay and we really enjoyed it. We were a family of 3 and had a double and pullout / sofa bed. The air conditioning was very effective and the room very quiet. The swimming pool facilities are fantastic and a real highlight of a stay. We'd have appreciated longer hours for our kid to be able to use the indoor pool (perhaps lunchtime when the pool is a lot emptier). I'd suggest relaxing the hours in off-season also. "The hotel is lovely. It is right on the beach. It was very clean and the staff were charming. The rooms are quite small tho. Breakfast was delicious- croissant and bread, jams, cereals, yogurt, coffee, orange juice and tea. Just right. The town is very pretty we were lucky enough to be there during a festival so it was very busy on Saturday night. Sunday we discovered a covered food market and then a delightful street market with an array of artisan gifts."

"We really liked the sites as it was convenient to get to La Rochelle and Rochefort. Fouras is a great town with lots going on; nice selection of restaurants. The pool was nice but people were not following the rules of no vaping aloud (maybe more/clearer signs or staff mentioning it to visitors would help). The bathroom was a bit smelly at the start but with ventilation that improved (there were no shelves in the shower area so that was not practical). We had plenty of towels and it was great...
