The unique historical features of the property were well-preserved and maintained. The room could benefit from a refresh, but it was still clean and in good working order. Great views from the room. "It was a great place to stay as it is in a convenient position, walking distance from the Railway Station and Echo Point. Near a bus stop if necessary. It's also very close to restaurants and supermarkets. Our room and bedding was warm and cosy and we had a convenient kitchenette. "

Following on with the prepaid buffet breakfast at the Metropole hotel where the buffet layout, the food and drinks quality were excellent. The chef/waitress - excellent service with a smile and a great atmosphere. "

"Fulfilled the purpose of an overnight stay. Warm and quiet. Would have liked easier access to drinking water(kettle hard to manipulate in bathroom) Also unattractive outlook to motorway from window. If permissible more native trees out there would be nice"

"Spacious room , comfy bed and pleasant surroundings. Only issue was the outside lights coming on at 5am which shone into our room thrthe curtains. Apparently this is for the tradies who stay during the week and leave early. Understand that but it would be nice if the timer was adjusted on the weekend. "

"This is a retreat hotel for treating people with cancer. I didn’t know that until after I arrived. I didn’t see anyone who was unwell. We I researched the property I realised it’s history. I thought wow, a massage chair in my room, cool European shower with jets etc, a gym and a chapel where I could light incense and candles. Filtered water is available, a fireplace in the eating area and very clean bedding. Whilst the room was small with no wardrobe, I only had an overnight bag and could cope....

"Check in was smooth, it was done at the bistro’s counter. Staffs were friendly. The room was clean, basics met. There is on-site parking depending on availability, the alternative would be street parking, which was easy and available near the hotel. As the room was above a bistro, music was playing till 11. Noise levels were all right after that. "
