When we arrived finding the entrance to the car park proved quite challenging, maybe some directions to it on the website would help. The breakfast coffee was terrible however the food overall was better than expected, generally well cooked and tasty with some nice touches such as pea shoots and sliced chilli on the SE asian curry. "What a beautifully restored and convenient hotel to stay at, we crossed the street from the train station and they had a lift. We had a delicious dinner at the captain’s table. Great selection of wines. "

"Nice hotel, with a pleasant bar area and garden. The room was ok. The duvet would have been more suitable for the winter months. The sheets were rough to the skin, and the mattress was alright for one night but it was far from comfortable. "

"We stayed at the 'cottage' part of the hotel (converted garage at the back of the main building) which was perfectly fine once we found it - we checked in after the reception closed and the directions were not 100% clear. We phoned the night guard who was very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean enough, apart from some random cardboard left in the bin. The shower was not particularly intuitive but perfectly fine once we got it to work. There was a complicated- looking and clearly broken...

"I have trouble walking and the lift was out of order on arrival. Not to worry, the sevice team swapped our first floor room for a ground floor more accessible one as soon as they saw the problem. Thank you so much for for your kindly intervention. We had a good night sleep and the breakfast was outstanding. This set us up for the ferry journey to the Isle of Wight. Superb!"

"Very nice hotel, room 16 large and comfortable bed, excellent cleanliness. A short walk into Arundel and important for us to have the car park. Breakfast very enjoyable with a good range of food. Only criticism was the shower was a weak flow and impossible to dry wash my hair. Overall, we would visit again. "
