"The quirkiness of this old building is fantastic and although it was a very small room it served its purpose. The only reason for just four stars is the AC will not go lower than 22 Celsius which is not suitable for sleeping. Luckily you can open a window but then you have noise and smoking scent from outside. My room had neighboring balconies very close to the window (which could not be locked in a non-entry position)."

"Although the rooms are fairly small, they are comfortable. The noise from the street is very loud and persistent all night long so wear ear plugs if you get a room streetside. The breakfast was lovely with excellent cappuccino & espresso and a nice selection of meats and pastries. It is very close to the San Giovanni train station which is a plus. The staff was super friendly and helpful."

Tastefully decorated.No bar on site but a fabulous bar across the courtyard working in liaison with the hotel. We stayed one night on our journey down to our Italian home and immediately rebooked for the stopover on the way back to England."

"This was our second stay at La Nuova Rotaia. We returned because the hotel has an amazing staff and the train station is one half block away giving you very convenient access to Milano and most anywhere. The staff is very accommodating and the breakfast area is quiet and elegant."
