"A Perfect Escape at Valley of the Rainbow Our stay at Valley of the Rainbow was absolutely fantastic! While there was no cellphone signal or WiFi at the chalet, it was a welcome break from technology—exactly what we needed to truly unwind. "We had a fantastic stay, host was super friendly and helpful, on call, cottages was newly furnished, had all the basics, limited Wifi, but enough for emails and Watsapps, could watch rugby at the restaurant, meals there upon request, emergency lighting around the premises during load shedding but not in the unit so take your torches, breath taking walks and river views, enough stunning swimming spots along the multiple pristine river crossings along the way for the hot summer day walks in the...

"OK ish to stay with dogs. However the road to get to the property is terrible terrible terrible. We slipped off the Provincial sand road due to mud. However the real challenge is to get to the farm house. Not fun at all especially when wet. We won't visit again because of challenges to get to the property. Real pity. "

"2 weeks prior to our arrival, we sent a message, and have still not had a reply. At arrival, the host did not know we were coming and had no info about our booking. Luckily she did a good job on preparing our house quickly. Kitchen supply was very old, frying pan useless and no toaster. "

"We were greeted on arrival by the owner, who was extremely welcoming and hospitable. The room was extremely spacious and well appointed and the breakfast excellent. Dullstroom is evidently the highest town in South Africa at well over 2000 metres above sea level. As such it is somewhat cooler than most of the country and provided a welcome respite. We would have no hesitation in recommending Critchley Hackle and hope to return ourselves next year."

"Good stay. Anford was very accommodating and met the needs for a 1 nights stay. Close to Silver Sixpence where we attended a wedding. Convenient location. Breakfast was good. However over lunch on Saturday the kitchen was closed which was disappointing but it is the road from Milly Trout and Farm where we got some good quiche’s and sandwiches. "

"I stayed at the cottage with my elderly parents and 10 year old son. The house was lovely, clean and fully equipped with cookware, dishes and even a washer and dryer which came in handy as two of our suitcases had been delayed. We visited in the winter (late July) and it was cold! We made a fire in the fireplace which was lovely but it was hard to warm up the house, even with the wall heaters. I kept wishing I had brought my slippers as the stone floors froze my feet. But a fully recommended...

"A Perfect Escape at Valley of the Rainbow Our stay at Valley of the Rainbow was absolutely fantastic! While there was no cellphone signal or WiFi at the chalet, it was a welcome break from technology—exactly what we needed to truly unwind. The setting was peaceful and breathtaking, making it the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature. We had an amazing time exploring the trail walk, which offered stunning views, and even tried our hand at fly fishing. Manie was an excellent teacher, and thanks to him, I picked up some great techniques. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a place to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature at its finest, Rainbow is the perfect getaway! "

Road is terrible terrible

"OK ish to stay with dogs. However the road to get to the property is terrible terrible terrible. We slipped off the Provincial sand road due to mud.
