"I booked a stay with breakfast included, but unfortunately, my husband and son got sick during our visit and couldn’t go down to eat. When I asked if I could take the food to our room, I was told it wasn’t allowed, so we couldn’t use the breakfast at all. Based on this experience, I would suggest to future guests not to include breakfast when booking. There are often better meal options outside the hotel, and if needed, you can always pay for breakfast later. This situation left me disappointed...

"You can tell the hotel was quite old but the condition wasn't too shaby given the age. It's clean as you'd expect from most Japanese hotels and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked two rooms for six nights and the room for my parents had a blocked drain when we checked in, the staff was able to offer another room straightaway before they can attend to the drain issue. Ryogoku isn't a very popular area with tourists but the hotel is right next to the train station and only two stops...
