"I quite liked this place for the price. It was clean, and beds were comfortable enough. Good location, had an amazing ice cream place so close, and a great discount grocery store where we could stock up on water for those hot nights! It was verrrrry hot to sleep here. No ac as most places in Germany. I did bring along a little USB fan that I bought before heading to Germany that has been extremely helpful. But the noise, we were on the train side, and it was really loud! It was okay for me...

"Hotel room was sparse and utilitarian. It is not a room for comfort. The bed and pillow was very comfortable. Shower room large and good power. Mood lighting controlled by a remote control. Tea coffee facilities in room. No bathrobe provided although this is a spa facility. Towels in room can be used for spa but they are not bath sized. "The absolute only issue about this hotel is it is 3 stories with no elevator. I did not see that anywhere when I booked so it was a bit of a surprise to have to lug 55 pounds of luggage up to top floor. The staff always offered to help though. Room was large and felt like a bedroom not a hotel room. Breakfast is available. Best croissants I had on my trip. Most of the staff speaks English. "

"My stay in Ratingen was perfectly fine. I have no complaints. The taxi to the airport is expensive and there's a €5 additional drop off charge so that should be taken into account, when "saving" money on accommodation near the airport."

"Advertised as 4 star, but inside room evac.plan says 3 star . In reality a 3 star bar and restaurant and 2 star rooms. Rooms tired, i.e. walls dirty, wallpaper peeling, furnishings old, badly scratched, cobwebs, broken window fastening, mould in bathroom, shower eithef too hot or cold, toiletries (only soap dispenser) cheap. Bar closed before 2200hrs (staff said as only 4 customers it was pointless staying open) and would only offer beer, wine or tea after 2145hrs. When we made comment to...
