The aroma was a complex bouquet reminiscent of a forgotten gym bag left in a damp basement—truly, a scent that grows on you after a while. The bathroom fixtures had a charming patina of rust, giving them a vintage appeal that transported us back to simpler times when functionality was optional. The showerhead, with its unpredictable water pressure, turned our morning rinse into a thrilling game of “Guess the Temperature.” As self-proclaimed connoisseurs of the broken and the stinky, we felt right at home. We must confess, however, to a minor transgression during our stay. In a moment of gastronomic rebellion, we indulged in a feast of a questionable pasta salad.
