"We were in need of urgent accommodation as the Shinkansen was suspended due to rain so we quickly booked one night at the Smile Hotel Hiroshima. I am so glad we did! Beautiful and large room with a lovely bathroom. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and even rung our accommodation to inform them that we would be a day late. "An amazing property, we were very well looked after from start to finish. Food and service was great, staff helped cooking traditional Japanese meals in buffet restaurant. We had previous poor reviews, but we certainly could not find fault in any part of our stay. We would return without hesitation."

"If all you want is someplace to sleep, then this may be OK. They do not clean the room while you are. They ask you to put the trash and towels outside your room for pick-up. Place is old, with some rooms having peeling paint on walls. Room was quiet and wifi was good. "
