"Worst hotel experience I’ve ever dealt with. Unable to get to the hotel because the only road to the hotel was closed. Hotel customer service was out-sourced and I had to talk to someone out of Japan that did not know anything about the hotel or roads in the area. After about 2 hours of back-and-forth via emails, they finally provided a number to the actual hotel, but the language barrier was a challenge. They agreed to cancel the reservation and agreed to provide a full refund, however,...

"Great spot away from the busy Tokyo area. The rooms and the hotel is special in its own way and has a lot of character. Felt like being in my grandparents home. Really enjoyed staying here and it made it incredibly easy to walk to and from the train station to get bus tickets. Would definitely tell friends to stay here in the future. "

"hard to imagine a greater contrast between a property and its location. it's situated in an amazingly privileged placement. as far as I can tell it's the only ski-in ski-out accommodation in the area. just strap on your board or skis and you're 30 seconds' glide down to the lift. the only issue about the location is that there are relatively few places in walking distance, and the shuttles stop running early - so be prepared for longish walks or a taxi back from dinner at night. the prime...

"My stay at Pension Meteor was amazing! The staff were so friendly and spoke fluent English. They went out of their way to help me plan activities on my trip and understand the area. The beds were comfortable and the ambience was cozy. They even have an adorable and calm dog on the property who greeted me whenever I returned to the Pension!
