"Hotels.com said check-in was 4-7. We got a call as we pulled in the driveway saying that check-in ended at 5. Since we were there they checked us in. After that point there was no one on property who could provide any service. There was no ice in the building kitchenette. At 5:30 we texted the number provided for ice to the kitchenette but there wasn’t a response. At 8 pm we called a number and left a message with no response. I think at 5:30 pm there should be someone in the hotel to provide...

"Gualala Country Inn was quaint and charming. We stayed in the Sunset room which faced the ocean. It was a spacious room. It included two double beds and a sitting area with a futon sofa and futon chair. There was also a electric fireplace in the room which had a beautiful effect as well as kept the room nice and cozy. Check in and check out was easy and very friendly."

"The amazing woman who manages the hotel is the single reason I would most certainly return. She went way beyond the the norm to assure our stay was everything we hoped it could be. The unit is a bit dated but super clean. The patio and decks are perfect for outdoor meals or quiet reading, grounds are immaculate, and service workers immediately responsive. Traffic noise is minimal and not a problem; however, Rt. 1 is constantly under construction and contractors tend to stay at the Surf Inn....
