"No breakfast. They told the agency 2 years ago but still listed as B & B. No parking making it a nightmare . Room cool. Excellent beds and shower room. No biscuits with tea making facility. Poor value since no breakfast."

"We picked a very busy day to need a bed in Durham as it was the university open weekend. La Spada was reasonably priced & good enough, despite quite a few adverse reviews. The hotel is not set up to take guests after 10pm, a fact not highlighted when we booked at 11.30pm & then tried to get in. Fortunately we were admitted. There was no breakfast service."

"The staff, the food at both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Parking is just across a quiet road. Our room however left us literally cold. Old building, 'wavy' floors, single glazed casement windows facing the prevailing - brisk - wind and an outside temperature of close to freezing. Then the heating gets switched off for the night ! Considering that this was the most expensive 'one nighter' on our recent trip, we were less than satisfied."
