Given the options, it’s basically impossible for a US citizen that doesn’t have a UK bank account or credit card. The only way we could do it was to get someone we knew in the UK to pay it. "the room was comfortable but the whole property was quite clean though quite shabby and the bathroom was damp and there wasn't enough toilet roll and no spares available. the bed was comfortable and bedding clean and fresh. If you think that you are getting the place to yourself as the advert suggests then do not be fooled as you are not.
