"When I arrived there was no one to show me to my room. I phoned the number on my booking but they could not find any record of me having booked with the itinerary number I was given. They gave me another number to call, eventually they found the booking and said ‘the man is coming’. This turned out to be a maintenance man who was very unwell (flu I presume). "After driving through traffic for almost 4 hours, when we arrived an older man with a mobile phone told us we did not in fact have a booking, that the hotel did not in fact exist as a hotel - even though all signage was still up. The man asked me to speak with head office on his phone who confirmed no booking, regardless of my e-mail confirmations. "An amazing property with incredible views of the coastline & Saltburn beach & pier. Good sized bedrooms and living room/kitchen. Bathroom could with some attention - a little damp on far wall. Although lovely shower. Property is on the fourth floor so be prepared!! "

"Cottage was ok but after booking through hotels.com I was contacted by Host & Stay and advised I had to pay an additional fee for a damage waiver. Alternatively I could pay a deposit but they take an admin fee so you don’t get the full amount back plus they state they may take 14 days to refund."

"Initially, there was some ambiguity about the check in, however as soon as I contacted the service provider, the manager arrived at the property in person and solved the issue. I didn't expect that prompt and kind reaction in response to my problem. I'm sure their business will flourish swiftly as they have put their customers' satisfaction at the centre of it.
