"The reception was difficult to find with poor signage and the front wentrance is not the entrance. The carpark is fairly well lit once you know where to go and the condition of the second building / actual hotel was in a reasonable condition. Check-in was straightforward with lifts up to the room. On arraval at the room we were greated with a hot room unfortunately the air conditioning did not work and windows are fixed closed (sign says use air-conditioning to regulate heat). The room was clean...

I decided not to bother him about the room, as every time I saw him he seemed to be already dealing with a dissatisfied guest! The hotel is confusingly still branded prominently as a Holiday Inn Express, and fitted out much as one. It should be of a reasonable standard, but seems to be desperately short of staff.
