 Cette grange semble dater du dernier quart du 18e siècle et du 1er quart du 19e siècle. Elle dépend du château de Monteaux et appartient à une société privée. Sa toiture particulière, semble sans équivalent dans le Loir-et-Cher. Les caractéristiques techniques de sa charpente permettent de dater la construction de la fin du 18e siècle. Les fermes sont constituées de 3 cours de planches formant un arc ogival rapprochées par des clous en fer forgé. Les fermes, sont les éléments de charpente qui supportent le poids de la toiture (triangulaires dans le cas de la charpente traditionnelle, mais ce n'est pas le cas ici). Le type de charpente est dit à la Philibert de l'Orme. Ce religieux du 16e siècle est surtout connu pour ses travaux d'architecture. En particulier, dans le livre X de son "Premier tome de l'architecture", Philibert de l'Orme décrit un nouveau type de charpente pouvant utiliser du bois court pour des toitures à grand développement. Ce type de charpente est cher en main d'oeuvre, économe en bois et généreux en espace. Une toiture à la Philibert de l'Orme ressemble à une carène de navire renversée.
