"We were in Rome really in transit to other places in Italy, looking for a place convenient to the railroad, not really for the highlights of Rome. This place is incredibly convenient to the Termini, literally across the street. What we hadn;t fully appreciate was how easily from this spot we could get to anywhere in Rome. The taxi stand is right there, as is the Hop on/off bus, the regular bus, and the Metro. We knew this was not a destination place for food, but the desk at Ciao told us...

"If your idea of a good hotel is glass and stainless steel this one isn’t for you. It is a small hotel on the fifth floor (served by a lift) a few blocks (15 minutes walk) from Termini in an early 20th century building. The hotel is clean and our rooms were well appointed. We had two rooms. My son and daughter stayed in a fairly conventional double whereas that of myself and my wife was one where two rooms had been knocked through to create a triple. "The property was pretty basic … no fridge or kettle in room . I like to drink hot tea or coffee first thing in the morning. I’ve never stayed in Italy so I don’t know if this is normal or not to supply these things . To buy coffee in italy it’s horrible I don’t think they use hot water . The room was cleaned everyday with clean sheets and towels in the shower room ."

"Room is soundproofed, didn't hear any sound from the street, next door nor the corridor. Room is clean, pleasant design, love the bricked roof. Mary at the front desk is exceptionally accommodating.
