Winter image of the ā€œSlufterā€, a nature reserve on the Wadden Island Texel. The reserve is a large salt marsh between two sand dikes. Creeks with salt water flow right through the area and a northwest storm can flood the entire reserve. Only plants that tolerate salt water can grow here. In the summer the plain colours purple due to the flowering sea lavender. #Nature
