Right in the heart of the old town.
The room was very comfortable. The bathroom pod a little disconcerting but adequate.Found the pillow presentation quirky. Breakfast was plentiful with a gorgeous yogurt/muesli dish which was a welcome find.

Loved this hotel!
We loved staying at this hotel! Location was great. very close to restaurants, shops, tram and the train station!! Service was great. Staff are super friendly and helpful! Room was clean and very spacious compare to so many other hotels that we stayed in Europe. Could be noisy at night but we didn't care!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Zurich
Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights, size of double room is okay with fresh beddings everyday, staff are very helpful, courteous and accommodating. Food is superb, there s an array of bread and cold cuts to choose from. I think this is the best hotel in town considering the rate of the room per night.

Quirky hotel and good value
This is the second time I have stayed here. The staff are always very friendly, the rooms are smallish but all have small en-suite bathrooms which is unusual for Zurich hotels at these rates. Ideally located for the old town but some adult clubs very close by.

Superb location and friendly staff
This hotel is right in the middle of Zurich, a stone's throw from lots and lots of bars and restaurants and shops, close to the tram, and yet reasonably quiet. The staff were great, very friendly and accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and won't hesitate to book into this hotel again. The rooms are clean and pleasant with a musical or style theme, I was in "Pop" and very happy to share it with Marilyn :-)

Convenient, quaint, and pleasant
This is an adorable hotel. It is convenient to the train, and walking distance to many tourist sites. I would definitely go again. Also, the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast and coffee are good.

awful place
hotel was stuffy and hot with no air conditioning or in room fan. windows opened onto tourist bars with loud noise until 2 am every night. room was very small and cramped and grumpy staff at breakfast. overpriced by a lot. give this place a miss.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Zurich's old town!
Small hotel situated right in the heart of the old town. The rooms were fairly small but very well planned out to maximise usage of the space. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and quite comprehensive but beware of the eggs - they look hard boiled but they are not - you have to boil them yourself in the machine - I very nearly had an "egg catastrophe" :-)

Franziskaner Hotel - THINK AGAIN !
Really bad location ! no parking whatsoever, really far away even for taxi ! we had to carry our luggages from really far away ! it located in the center but there are better locations in Zurich. the elevator didn't work and we had a room at the 4 floor ! the stuff helped us with the luggages but it was after we complained to the hotel manager. the room is really small and showers are an addition to the room and it feel like shower in an airplane. also the breakfast is not satisfying at all. Overall even when the stuff was great, the conditions are really bad. Search for a better hotel in Zurich !

Great location. Good hotel.
I booked this hotel at the last minute for my annual European excursion, and overall not a bad choice. Pro's: each room is unique and has its own look (which is cool and modern), decent b-fast buffet, good location & close to many things, very helpful staff. Con's: mattress a bit too stiff, room a tad small, shower VERY small. Bottom line, if you don't mind a room that is a bit on the small side, kind of a hard mattress, then you will be quite satisfied with the Franziskaner Hotel.

Good value
This hotel was very nice for the price. Great location, walk to everything. A little noisy at night with the window open, and no A/C so you have to leave the window open. But if price and location are priorities, this place would be hard to beat.

Lovely but hot!
Not having any air conditioning was very hard to cope with considering the outside temp was 92 degrees Fahrenheit. The hotel is lovely and the staff were sensational but with only windows for ventilation and the there was no breeze - it was near impossible to sleep. The pub downstairs was very loud when the windows were open but when we closed them it was fine. Unfortunately when we closed them, the heat in the room was stifling. Next time we go back and stay there, we will go at winter time when it would be perfect!

Hotel Stay May 2012
The hotel was very central. It is about a ten minute walk from the train station in an area where there are no cars. The staff is very friendly. They provide a nice breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the street. It was a little noisy one night but we still had no trouble sleeping. The room is small but functional and the bathroom was small but the shower worked well. I would recommend this hotel because it is very central and easy to get to from the train station.

1st off the hotel was in a great central location. Easy to get to from the tram which is minutes away from the train station. We came early (9:30AM) and the room was already ready! So we were able to unload, relax before our "adventure." It was easy to walk about from the hotel to/from all major sites. Breakfast in the mornings was better than expected as well! Fresh coffee/cappuccinos, fresh meats/cheeses, a variety of breads and juices as well! i thought we might be getting jipped since 2 other popular hotels (adler & wellington) were nearby and much more $$, but i'm glad we went with Franzkinser b/c it was well worth $$ and much less $$. Thanks!

Good location but small, dark bathroom
Really good location. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Quite expensive - but I understand this is normal for Zurich and the bathroom was too small and quite dark. Breakfast a little bit basic!

Great Hotel in Zurich's Old Town
The hotel is part of District 1. This is definitely where you want to be. It is in the heart of old town. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms are modern and clean. We would stay there again.
