"Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very small for 6 people. It would have been nice to have a privacy curtain on each bed. Also we had to move one of the bunks to retrieve something that had fallen behind the bed and it was very dirty. Obviously they never clean between the beds and walls. The elevator worked about 50% of the time. Staff was helpful in making sure I could use it. The location was great. In Old town, very close to the tram and market. Very walkable area."

"The shower place had some bugs so I wasn’t happy about it but still it is worth the price and the staff were really friendly. I would definitely go again when I visit Bilbao."

"It was my first hostel experience- and was a good one for it! Love how modern it was, helpful staff, and it was pretty comfortable."

"Family of 4. Stayed 1 night in a family room with private bathroom and it was perfect, even better than we thought. Very well located 10 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to bus station to go to the city center. Would definitely recommend. "

"I stayed here for 2 days. Firstly, hotels.com forgot to send me late check-in instructions, which I emailed them about. The room was ok. The pillow was really uncomfortable. There is no lock on the room. Shower was ok. I wake up to construction noise in the morning. There is no proper kitchen and if someone is cooking you can smell it from your bed. "

"I was travelling with my family already for 2 weeks and stayed in several different places, but this was certainly the one where we were received in a way that made us feel like home. The attention and kindness of the owner of the property were superb. A unique place, with a wonderful landscape and great welcome. We truly recommend!"

"The facilities were much more satisfactory than I expected. I was also satisfied with the elevator, kitchen, and view. However, the bedding smelled like it was not dry and the pillow smelled, so I put on the cover I brought and slept. The pillow cover was fine, but the pillow itself should be washed in hot water or replaced with a new one. Room number 3612"

"Our visit to San Sebastián was lovely and the room was very nice however when we arrived we were stranded outside the building because it was very difficult to communicate with the management."

"The staff allways provided help the were very nice; metro station is 2 blocks away from the hostel. The general area needs a bit of maintenance, the couches are in bad shape. Pillows need to be replaced very soon , they are dirty and not comfortable."

"We arrived at the property with no information about how to access our room. Whoever is managing the property is no where to be found... basically asked another person who had access to the building the code to get in and found the key to our room in the door. Also, no fridge, no laundry, at the site as promised. Great location though at night too noisy to sleep with the window open so had to muscle through the heat."

"Great one bedroom suite, with kitchen area in the sitting room. Useful washing machine/dryer. Large comfortable double bed with an amazing light system in the board behind the pillows. Walkable to the old town with it’s great pixos/tapas bars and parking, which you can reserve in advance with Telpark, is only 2 minutes walk away.The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would have been nice to have an armchair as well as sofa in the sotting room. Excellent stay."

"Perfect apartment for a family of four. The kitchen was well equipped. I wish we knew in advance about the siesta window shutters. They are a great feature for travelers that want to rest during daylight on the arrival day. "

"It is a very nice glamping site when you stay in their bungalow. There is AC, dishwasher, cooktop, shower and bathroom, kitchen with utensils in a clean campground. "

"This Axel is relatively new. The rooms are well designed, the shower is very stylish. Ivan and his staff do their best to give a good client experience. Ivan checked me in and was extremely charming. There was an issue with another guest and they put things right promptly. My only little criticism is that the spa is small and nice but none of its facilities were warm enough, the spa, jacuzzi and steam all needed to be a few degrees warmer. Also the Axel in San Sebastián provided bathrobes and slippers at no extra cost and they were in the room, in Bilbao there is a charge but as the changing facility in the spa is small it would be better to also provide the robes and slippers in the rooms. Otherwise the hotel is beautifully appointed and a great location for the Old Town and a fifteen/twenty minute walk to the Guggenheim."

"This new Axel is beautiful. From my initial greeting by a very hospitable Racquel, to the gorgeous room. Everything is spotlessly clean, obviously it’s new but the bed was comfortable and a gorgeous shower. My only tiny negative is that the spa pool could have been warmer, but the hotel was superb value for money and a fifteen minute walk from The Conch and incredible food options of the Old Town. I would recommend it highly"
