"Koyasan Eko-in Escape busy Tokyo or Osaka for this calming, welcoming and nurturing town of Koyasan. You’ll be warmly greeted regardless of what shops you enter or which temple you stay in. However, I must say that the team at Eko-in really goes above and beyond to make for an incredible experience from start to finish. They guide you step by step upon check-in and let you know what to expect along the way. Things not to be missed: -4:30 pm guided meditation -In-room massage therapy by monks -7pm cemetery walk (if it doesn’t rain, ours got cancelled due to weather) -7am morning prayer -7:30am fire ritual Cannot recommend highly enough!! 🏯🍜🎋📿"

"The experience was what we expected. Very Japanese, quiet with beautiful gardens. They changed our booking from a room for 6 to three rooms for 2 each and had a nice garden view.
