5/5 Excellent
"If you're looking for an experience and an environment that is completely different to pretty much anything in Qatar, this is the place. The facilities, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful!
Our villa was really well appointed, and we enjoyed having our own infinity plunge pool looking across the sea towards Bahrain. Alas, at night, there is some kind of facility on the island with very bright flood-lights all night. So, if you're hoping to see the milkeyway, this isn't the place. Although, looking at the light pollution maps, it doesn't look like there is a single place Qatar dark enough to see the milkyway. Major constellations, such as Orion, and the planets were visible.
We also took part in the mixology class, which we thoroughly recommend! Our mixologist was great fun, and very knowledgeable. And the cocktails were the best in Qatar, no doubt!
The only reason for rating the area down is because the location is very isolated. Which is good. And the environmental concept they've gone for is to keep things mostly natural. There is an area around the beach bar where they have brought in nice beach sand, but that's it. The rest of the beach area in front of the sea-facing villas is natural, with the very course sand, and very sticky clay.
Again, because the location is so isolated, your only options for dining are the one restaurant and bar. Which is good! But, limited. "
