"Overall enjoyed our stay but there were a few small things that could have made our stay more fulfilling. The entire place is made kids friendly which was really touching and is a welcome attitude given we are a family with 2 kids. The breakfast spread was quite good but had very limited vegetarian options - again the kids section there was really awesome! Rooms were quite clean but a bit smaller than anticipated, the toilet exhaust was a bit low or not working which made it a bit awkward. Loved the dedicated kids play area, gachapon area, vending machines, coin laundry, pool was paid, onsens were excellent and the halloween themed setup was cute. We were really relieved with the dedicated Lawson combini in their lobby!!! How cool is that :)"

"It’s got a great view, the owner is super nice. I stayed in September. However, the shower/bath water in the room was VERY cold. Honestly my only complaint about the place. Otherwise I loved it. Check in is very easy too. "

"This was my first time in Gunma and i cant believe how luckily i got with this stay. Nice, relaxing stay plus they had bikes so i could explore the area and really enjoy the country side. I liked too that the bathroom had a window i could open and view the nice scenary while taking a hot shower. The owner is a really kind guy that is there to ensure you are having a good time and is always open for a nice conversation. I will definitely be staying here each time im in Gunma and i recommend it to everyone"

"Extremely remote (nearly a 3 hour bus ride from Kinegawa Onsen Train station into the winding mountains) which was both an adventure and unnerving. Made to feel like a foreigner with little help in understanding the cultural norms as a newcomer to the onsen experience. The in-suite onsen option was incredible, providing both privacy and ability to enjoy the experience as a newcomer free of the "ritual" imposed but not well explained for use of the public hot pools. Hatcho No Yu was ultimately a memory for a lifetime but came with a less than supportive interface with staff who treated us like we didnt belong. "
