Welcome to Lakeside with the lake literally at your doorstep.
We have done our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, both for the young and old.
Park you boat on the pontoon down by the water, grab one of the SUP's or canoes to go & explore.
The deck is our personal favourite with stunning views across to Tinaburra & Lake Tinaroo.
We have a separate outdoor BBQ area and the large living has a bar for entertaining and a cozy fire place.
It comfortably fits 10 guests.
Situated on a large 1,000m2 block that backs onto the lake, with private side access.
(Good to know that there is no public access)
The pontoon down by the water is for you to use during your stay, hook your boat up to it, fish from the dock or gaze at the stars at night time.
Head down the waters edge for a picnic or have a slip and slide going on the grass!!
We have stand-up paddle boards and canoes available for use included in your package, making sure you are making the most out of your holiday!
All rooms are fully air conditioned, the large bedroom in the left of the house also has a ceiling fan. The other bedrooms have aircon and pedestal fans.
We have a ceiling fan in the living area as well.
Fire wood for the indoor fire place is supplied.
We have a proper baby cot and high chair, our "Jungle Room" is set up as the kids room however we made sure the beds are comfortable enough for anyone to sleep in. Offering a single and the triple bunk has a king single at the top and queen bed at the bottom. A Bed guard is available upon request.
We have (kids) games, colouring in and lots of (kids) books.
The TV is hooked up to Disney Channel & Netflix.
Lakeside Tinaroo is our home away from home and we want you to feel at home as well.
There is enough parking space at the front of the house. The double garage is locked up. Everything else is for the guests to enjoy and make themselves feel at home.
We will give the guests their privacy, however we are always contactable via phone and can come down to the house if required.
Lake Tinaroo is very popular for wake boarding, skiing, fishing and any other water activities you can think of.
The picturesque village of Yungaburra is surrounded by countryside which has been influenced and shaped by many, now extinct, volcanoes.
The landscape is stunning, with outstandingly beautiful natural attractions: crater lakes, waterfalls and World Heritage Rain Forest (The curtain fig tree) and crystal clear lakes to swim in. All just within a short few minutes drive.
This ideal holiday destination is cooler than the coastal area during summer, and in winter the mild days and refreshing nights are an excuse to enjoy a crackling log fire.
The area is also known for its great mountain biking tracks (single and duel suspension mountain bikes available for hire), wildlife, like the tree kangaroos or platypus. We encourage you to take the canoes out early in the morning or in the afternoon, with a near 100% chance of spotting these amazing creatures.
Definitely by car and of course by boat, JetSki, canoe or paddle board!
Town is just a 5 minute drive away with Yungaburra foodworks being open till 8PM every day. Once you have checked in you actually don’t need to leave the place anymore!
As Lake Tinaroo is an irrigation lake the water levels do drop (usually around the end of the year just before the wet season starts), like the farmers we need the rain for the lake to fill up again every year.
Till about 53% we have lake access from our house, SunWater Tinaroo Dam is a good way to check the levels.
When under 55% we recommend to launch a boat from the public boat ramp which is only 5 minutes away, you will still be able to take the canoe and SUP's from the house.
Your hosts are Cairns locals that have been in the tourism industry for many years.
With a certified ECO Lodge in Yungaburra and a great love for the outdoors we are more than happy to assist you with our knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.
