Great place. Probably not the most expensive on the resort so pleasantly surprised to find toiletries laid out. I guess our unit hadn't been used for a while as there was air the water pipes to the sink and brown water came out initially. It was okay after running it a while and it stayed clean thereafter. The flies are the worst thing about the resort. There are nets you can by at the shops to put over your head. I am led to believe we went at the worst time of year for them and also they were getting more than normal this year!!! However, the flies stayed outside and didn't come into the apartments. So overall, quite good.

Arrival was a bit confusing. Rooms were not ready until 3pm. Luggage could be left but we were advised to go into the centre of the resort. Obviously most people had flown in from cooler places and were not dressed or prepared for the extreme heat, I.e. sun hats, sun lotion, and other necessities were packed away in the suitcase. However the room was comfortable and spacious. Having got up at 3.30 for a sun rise trip, and occupied myself until about 14.30, I would have appreciated my room being cleaned during this time. But no, the cleaners arrived at 3pm and asked if I wanted it cleaned. In the end it was easier not to bother. Most hotels clean the rooms in the morning and this is preferable. There was a traditional restaurant which I didn’t use, but I did like the casual eating area. Masses of large bench style tables, could be used if you were buying from the bar, burger type place or the bar be cue area. Ideal for a quick meal at the end of a long hot day.

We really enjoyed the Outback Pioneer Hotel. It was clean and the rooms were very nice. There are cooking facilities available. The room has a frig, tv, wifi - everything you could need. The front desk staff seemed a little overwhelmed occasionally but answered any questions we had. We had a standard hotel room - with 2 beds. They do also have 'backpacker' accommodations - bunk beds - but we did not try those rooms. I think this is a very good hotel.

I liked the property, the room needs to be clean better there was dust on the carpet and the toilet and bathtub had stains. I liked that they let you use the kitchen if you want to cook, the food is expensive. Uluru is very close to the resort and we watched the sunset from the various points in the resort. It was beautiful.

Great clean hotel
For being in the outback it was a lovely stay and comfortable to come back to after such a long day. Only issue was whenever you used the taps a weird smell emerged but I am assuming it is due to being on a tank and septic system - so totally okay with that and understand that! Great stay, would highly recommend!

The hotel was convenient for both backpack and couples. There are other hotels that are twice the price however for a one or two day layover this facility was great.

Convenient hotel
Decent hotel for a short stay. There are a few choices for food, and a gift shop. You can also shop at the supermarket at the Town Centre and then prepare your own meal at the hotel's communal kitchen. The hotel can be noisy on Friday nights due to the live music. On other nights, it is not too noisy.

Expensive but good.
Yulara is an expensive place because it is so remote. The Outback Pioneer hotel is pricey for what it is but I doubt if you will do better. The rooms are clean and comfortable and provide all you really need - it's just nothing special! The staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful. Expect to pay a lot for food too. Our stay was marred slightly because they closed the Bough House restaurant for renovations. This meant we had to go to Gecko's cafe instead, which turned out to be a bit down market but the food was very nice (and a lot cheaper!). We can also recommend the Kulata Academy Cafe - good coffee and snacks. Overall we had a great time and were able to do all we wanted to do with no hassles.

Hotel was expensive, but it had some nice amenities-enjoyed the live music and the laundry facilities. Went over to the town center, but could not find the supermarket, those stores were poorly marked.

Good hotel but needs to be better
It was good overall experience but the stay was overpriced. Because of limited choice, we felt price for services were on the higher side. In the absence of competion, monopoly mentality plays and visitors feel entrapped.

It’s OK.
A very few choices to stay at the Ayers Rock. This hotel is most reasonable hotel at this area except for sharing room (backpackers). If you need the private room, I recommend it. But, don’t expect new facilities and condition. Ayers Rock resort including this hotel has the free shuttle between the airport & hotels.

Staff are their main asset
This hotel is one of the cheaper accommodation options at Yulara. However their service level is excellent. There are several eating options, none of which I tried. Note that car parking is not immediately next to rooms but not too far. There is a free bus service around the town which runs every 20 minutes and stops at this hotel.

Overpriced Accomodation
The room was reasonably clean. No facilities in room for cooking. There is a communal kitchen which was located a decent distance from room. Car parking not close to room. Had to lug bags quite a distance. BBQ's are available on site but you can only cook meat purchased from the motel. There is a restaurant on site but prices for basic meals at least double what you would expect to pay elsewhere. Overall very expensive compared to other places for half the price with better facilities.
