The space
There's no question that the North Georgia Mountains is one of the most spectacular areas in the world! Located one mile from Lake Chatuge the Yewit Center is centrally located between Hiawassee and Young Harris, GA and only a few miles from historic Hayesville, NC. We encourage you to go to mountaintopga.com which is the Towns County Chamber of Commerce website. You will find it hard to believe the activities and happenings in these parts. Hiking, water sports, zip lines, restaurants, antiques, white water rafting, bass and fly fishing, golf, festivals and other happenings are just some of the activities you'll find around here. At Yewit Center you will find that access is easy and the tranquility is refreshing. Feel free to fish in our private stocked pond that is right on Crooked Creek - large mouth bass, brim, croppie, blue gil, 7 large grass crop (if you can catch them.) The Terrace Level is 1600+ sq. ft and is spacious and tranquil. We know you will love your stay at Yewit Center!
Guest access
WIth easy pull-up access to the front door, The Terrace is "Handicap Friendly". The door is a standard 36". You will have no problem getting in and out of Yewit Center since it is directly off GA Hwy 339 (which is Crooked Creek Rd.) Easy access with wonderful seclusion without the worry of treacherous mountain dirt roads. PLEASE DO NOTE that renting in the Winter months can require extra care at your own risk. We do all we can to minimize hazards associated with ice and snow. Yewit Center has the unique aspect of seclusion while still having direct access to the main road.
Other things to note
We are certainly pet friendly so bring 'em along if you'd like. Dogs go for free. However cats are welcome if they are declawed. We have two cats (that stay outside during the warm months) and Lester, the world's friendliest dog. He's a lab/aussie mix and has never met a stranger and helps our guests with their fishing on our pond.
