Starlight Lodge

Situated on a quiet cul de sac, this beautiful and cozy 4/4 home sleeps up to 14 guests.
Inside, there is a fully stocked kitchen, dining table that seats 8, large living room, Dish
satellite TV, DVD player, WiFi, and a lovely, stone, wood-burning fireplace. Downstairs
there are 3 bedrooms: a Queen; a second Queen with ensuite bathroom (shower); and a
third with two Queens. There are also two hallway bathrooms, one with a tub, one with a
shower. The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator/freezer, microwave, gas
oven/stove, and dual Keurig coffeemaker (pot and pods). The central hallway has a library
full of books and an armoire with games. Upstairs there is a one-bedroom with
two plush queen beds, and a pull-out queen sofa sleeper, and a TV.

with two basins, a steam shower, and a whirlpool tub. Outside, this home has a very large
deck, much of it covered, with a gas BBQ, and a 6-person outdoor jacuzzi. Parking is
ample. This is a smoke-free, pet-free home.
Starlight Lodge has located just steps from the charming, locally owned, Pine Tree Market.
Also within easy walking distance are day and overnight hiking trails, river access for
swimming/fishing (license required), a community library, the Pioneer History Center, a
children’s playground and field by the Wawona School, U.S. Post Office, general store, and,
the historic Wawona Hotel with a 9-hole golf course (see Yosemite National Park’s website for
current details and seasonal activities.)

The house and location were just what we were hoping for! I failed to realize and was pleasantly surprised to find that the house is located within the National Park, so we didn’t have to deal with the park’s entrance every day.

Yosemite - Spring Get-a-Way
This property was ideal for the gathering of 4 adult couples to introduce two of us to the wonders and beauty of Yosemite. Approximately 50 minutes from the valley floor, it is located in a quiet neighborhood a half a mile from the Wawona Hotel. The house was roomy and clean, with a comfortable great room we used for games and conversation. Each of the 4 bedrooms had its own bathroom - which was a big plus. One of the bedrooms was upstairs, the others were downstairs. The fireplace was perfect for early the early May nights, and there is a convenient small grocery store a 5 minute walk down the road. We would definitely recommend this for a larger group that doesn't mind the trek into the valley. Plenty of parking for the 4 couples. We will be back the next time we visit Yosemite.

Large spacious property
It was a very nice stay but the house felt dated and in need of some maintenance. It did not take away from our enjoyment. We even used the hot tub one night. They do have a lot of light switches and it would have been nice if they would have been labeled or had more instructions in the guest book.

Great Space
Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Common room was comfortable. Covered porch was great for dining; we pushed the two tables together so the whole group could eat family style. Hot tub was hot. Location was super as it is inside the park so we did not have to wait at the park entrance station each day and we did not have to get a separate park entrance pass.

Great stay
The house has everything you need and it's exactly as pictured. The location is lovely. I wish there were extra towels for when we used the hot tub, and the beds weren't the most comfortable, but overall it was a great stay specially considering the location and the lack of options for a bigger group at Yosemite.

This house is already in the park so you only pay once. There is a corner market about 500 steps away that carries everything you might need during your stay. Very secluded area.

Overall we had an amazing time. Renting a property inside the park made sightseeing so convenient. The property was cozy and plenty of space. The only downside was the disposal leaked and the BBQ did not work efficiently. (Only one burner worked and it did not work well) So our steak had to be cooked stovetop. 😑 my family and I hope to stay again very soon.

I write this review with mixed feelings since more people will want to stay and it will be harder to book! This house is perfect for four couples or several families. The rooms are nice size, the living room is great, the bathrooms good and the kitchen is stocked with everything! We had such a great time we’re going to return next year.

The Starlight lodge was listed exactly as described on VRBO. The lodge was perfectly suited for our family of 14. Easy access when we arrived. There is a small friendly grocery store, that we used often. The children and adults loved the huge outdoor bar-b-que, jacuzzi, and patio furniture. The house enough room for all of us and we loved cooking in the kitchen. It was fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, silverware, and more. The location was perfect and great hiking areas nearby. With our booking, we received a one week pass for Yosemite park, so no need to purchase one ahead of time, just show the park ranger when you area to the entrance. Saved us $35.00's. The representative from Scenic Wonders was a delight to make arrangements with at the last minute reservation and I appreciated her attention to detail. We will book again during the spring or a winter trip.

We really enjoyed the huge deck out front. Only disappointment was in the pictures there was an extra refrigerator upstairs and when we arrived it was no longer available. If you can accommodate 14 people you need to provide more than one refrigerator.

Overall outstanding! Clean, neat, spacious. Issues: Had to call manager for door-entry information. Spa cover tie-downs locked, unable to access. Needed to gather kindling and tinder for fire. Advise filling up by Oakhurst. Gas very expensive in Wawona.

A Great Place to Stay and Enjoy Yosemite!
We stayed at the Starlight Lodge in Wawona for our 30th year: "Gals Weekend!" The neighborhood, the house, the location to what we wanted was perfect! We are all cooks and we all like to walk/hike, and we all enjoy the hot tub after a 6-8 mile hike. The kitchen had everything we needed - and everything from the silverware, cooking utensils and pots and pans were clean right out of the cupboards and drawers (not a common occurrence at some VRBO homes). The rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and well appointed, the hot tub was clean and convenient. Overall, the place is a gem! I did not have an issue with the Internet or texting, etc., because I have Verizon...but my friends who had AT & T had some connection issues (fact...not a plug :)). I think the only - very minor - issue was that there could be better lighting around the hot tub area. And we LOVED the hot tub, but I'm not sure the jets are fully functional - I should have let the owners know, but I forgot as my life got busy the minute I hit "reality" at home/work. A note to future tenants - don't discount walking around the neighborhood and toward the Wawona Hotel...there are trails along the road and there is a little historical park area that is very interesting: and, the covered bridge is fun to walk through on the way to the Hotel where the grounds are beautiful and the historical component makes it worthwhile to visit! Being inside Yosemite is a bonus! Be aware that there is a $35 fee per car as you enter the park that is good for a week. Another bonus was that the crowds are dissipating this time of year and the weather was TERRIFIC for our hikes and hot tubbing. Overall, this is a great place to stay to explore this end of Yosemite and to have a comfortable and well appointed accommodation!
