INSIDE YOSEMITE! 10 Minutes From Yosemite Valley. Summer and fall openings!

Ten minutes from Yosemite Valley and conveniently located on the paved road, this one bedroom cabin in Foresta offers complete relaxation in a quiet setting. The full kitchen includes all modern appliances (excepting dishwasher) and comes equipped with dining area, coffee maker, toaster, blender, pots, pans & dishes. Or use the propane BBQ while enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Eat on the screened porch, safe from pesky bugs, or relax on the couch. The modern bathroom features a walk-in shower and stacked washer/dryer. The bedroom has a comfortable King bed, closet and supplemental electric stove. Equipped with romantic flame gas insert and A/C. Explore the quiet surroundings, stroll to Crane Creek moments away, then rest under the shady oaks and pines. (See also our sister listing #726304, Shady Grove Cabin for additional two person accommodation.)
Foresta is a great starting point to various Yosemite destinations, Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, the Merced & Tuolumne Groves of Sequoias and many hiking trails. Offering Free satellite TV, WIFI and HughesNet Gen4 internet, Verizon's 4G network is also available.

Foresta is located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. Now known as an “inholding”, Foresta (Big Meadow) started as a pioneering area. Two ranches (McCauley and Meyers) provided beef, pork, dairy and vegetables to the Yosemite Valley hotels. In the twenties, it was sub-divided and given the name of Foresta. Created as an “artistic” community, musical gatherings were held by the creek. After the Great Depression, many lots were sold for back taxes. Approximately 75 homes were in use, either full time or seasonally, before the 1993 A-Rock fire destroyed most of them. More than half of the homes have now been rebuilt. Fire has been a defining force in this area, showcasing Mother Nature's endless cycles.

Close to Yosemite Valley.
The property was clean, comfortable, well stocked and very close to Yosemite Valley. It's the next best thing to staying right in the valley.

Yosemite Valley close by.
The property was only "semi"-clean. Plenty of room, quiet beautiful location. Sagging spot in the floor covered by carpet was disconcerting. Shower head was gross. Air conditioning was window unit, not central air. Couldn't use fan in BR without light being on because switch was broken. Luggage rack broken. Tired furniture. For the price over all just OK.

This was the perfect location for exploring the valley. Come prepared with groceries in hand and you will be set for tranquility and some great treks into the valley. The space was clean and as advertised. Owners were very responsive and helpful.

Great being inside the park.
It was great being inside the park and near the valley. Initially, the location was challenging to find, but the rustic cabin was nice. My only issues were the cleanliness of the property and that only one small a/c unit was available in the living area, which made the bedroom very warm.

Charming Cabin
My husband and I greatly enjoyed the convenient location and privacy of this quaint cabin. The house was very clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Yosemite National Park. The neighborhood was extremely peaceful and quiet, and all the sites in the park that we wanted to visit were within a 15-45 minute drive. The kitchen has a nice, large refrigerator with plenty of room for your groceries. The house has a window air conditioning unit in the living room and a ceiling fan in the bedroom. There was plenty of hot water and clean towels, along with laundry detergent for the stacked washer/dryer in the bathroom. It was fun to see the deer, quail, woodpeckers, and other birds near the cabin, and we enjoyed the walk down the dirt road where we saw a pretty little waterfall.

Great private cabin
We stocked up on groceries and stayed here 6 nights end of July. We loved the privacy and e had while still being in the park a short drive to all the hikes we knocked out while here. We had everything we needed, clean, great location to park trailheads, grill, and just passed the house is a river to cool off in! Would highly recommend! The directions are easy to follow and Annie was responsive via text

Great little cottage off the beaten path.
To begin with, the host was very communicative. She even gave us road closure updates as we were traveling to Yosemite. Although it is pretty remote, the cottage was easy to find with Google Maps navigation. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The area where it is located is several miles from the valley, although still within the park, so there was plenty of peace and quiet. Even with the extreme heat, it was a wonderful experience. Next time we will go in the spring, and if possible, we won't hesitate to try to book this property again.

Serene and Close to Park
We loved staying here. We were barely 20 minutes from Yosemite valley. As Half Dome hikers, this was a critical part of our day. And every day we got home from epic hikes to a quiet, serene home, with birds chirping while we ate dinner on the screened in porch. The home was very equipped for longer stays and we enjoyed everyday. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

Loved cabin in Forests!
We loved the convenience of being within the park combined with the ability to get away from the crowds. The private niche of Foresta with quaint cabins and solitude was a gem for us. Just down the dirt road from our cabin was a beautiful waterfall that was fun to walk to. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, kitchen well stocked, it is not “fancy” by extremely comfortable.

Charming cabin in rustic Yosemite
Charming classic cabin with modern updates and an incredible property manager to boot. The screened in porch was perfect for meals, and the kitchen has been beautifully updated. Annie and Rick were both communicative and so kind. It’s a short 15 minute walk to a pretty waterfall, and if you go to the top of the hill, you’ve got a breathtaking view of El Capitan and Half Dome from afar. 100% would stay again.

Nice Cabin Great Location
My wife and I loved staying at this cabin within Yosemite. It's centrally located between Tiago Pass, Yosemite Valley and Mariposa. We visited each in that order and had an amazing vacation. The cabin is very spacious for two and the kitchen and screened in porch are as well; made use of both during our stay. Parking is super close to the door which made unloading / loading a breeze.

Great place to stay in Yosemite
We loved our stay. It was a comfortable to come back to after exploring the park. The kitchen was well stocked. We used the cast iron skillet every night and ate on the screened in porch. Buy groceries before entering the park though the Village store seemed to have a lot. There are coolers to use. Be sure to walk down the road and onto the Foresta trail. Going past the small waterfall provides a nice view. Definitely a great place to stay.

We had to change accommodations due to Washburn fire from Wanona hotel and this quiet location was closer to our hiking trails. Nice screened in porch and roomy cabin for two. Modern kitchen and appreciated the literature and Yosemite book for the park. Very happy week at this comfortable cottage!!!

What a cute place! Clean and quiet and private. Just what we wanted. We ate on the screen porch, then sat out at night to watch the Milky Way. Yosemite was bustling, but Oak Wood Cabin was serene. And the kitchen is huge for a small place!

Wonderful Stay
My husband and I decided to go to Yosemite for our 10th anniversary and we really enjoyed this cabin. It was in the park and the location was very quiet. We mostly spent our days at Yosemite Valley, which is about a 20 minute drive away. Cabin has everything we needed for four days and bed was super comfortable. Highly recommend!

Great Location For Us
Close to Yosemite Valley and Tioga Road. Comfy couch and bed. Nice working kitchen. Loved the screened in porch. There is room to unpack and put away your stuff in both bedroom and bathroom so you don't have to live out of your suitcase if you don't want to. Directions to the cabin were great. Cell service is spotty in the Park so print or screen shot your directions. Owners answered all of my questions quickly. WiFi is not super robust at the cabin, but who cares. Just wanted to watch a movie after a long hike and it was good enough for that. AC will likely have trouble in the hotter months. Not an issue for me, but my hubby had trouble getting to sleep 2 out of our 5 nights there. I will likely be back to Yosemite at least one more time to finish our wish list of hikes. I would stay here again if it is available. Teresa
