The host was amazing! The property was clean and very family friendly. Keurig stocked with Starbucks too. I love this little community within Yosemite. I will come back to the location and this rental.
We stayed here while visiting and exploring Yosemite for the first time. It is about a 40 minute drive to the Valley from this house. We loved that the home is in Yosemite so we didn’t need park reservations and we never had to sit in like at the park entrance. This home was well stocked with everything we needed.
The pictures don't do it justice. We were so comfortable in the house that my only regret is we didn't spend more time in the gorgeous patio among rocks and tall trees. The house is nestled way off the beaten path. Wawona has a wonderful store that had everything we needed. And the drive back and forth to the various parts of the park were gorgeous. Glorious sunsets and vistas driving back to the house each evening after our hikes and excursions. We'll return.
Our stay was great! The cabin had everything we needed. There were some extra unexpected nice touches. For example the grill and the washer and dryer were of good quality.
The beds were ok. The cleanliness was ok, (found old food left on the cutting board). The patio table did not appear to be wiped down upon our arrival.
The front door locking mechanism was tricky. The deadbolt does not appear to be working.
I wasn't sure what the envelope on the kitchen counter was for? With all the fees and costs associated with our stay, I can't imagine that we were expected to leave a tip too.
We were grateful to be in the park, it was nice to have immediate access to the Yosemite Valley and there were many wonderful things to see and do in the immediate area.
Unfortunately the house does not conform to the quality standards advertised
The hot tub had dirty water , the light was indicating to change the filter and the water conditioner. The water was torbid.
The kids could not use it.
As for the adults we found the bathrooms to be below standard a huge caulking bead in the shower was growing mold.
The mattresses were old and out of shape leaning towards the outside edge.
The sliding door was very hard to operate.
The carpet so dirty you could not go barefoot.
… Not worth the money.
The property manager was hard to get a hold of.
On the positive side:
The surroundings are fantastic and the patio has a fireplace/bbq that is very nice.

Great location, house needed TLC
It was awesome to have a house inside Yosemite NP so we didn't have to get day permits. The house had a great back porch and grill, but needed TLC overall. There were no dish towels, bathroom rugs, and we found out the first night that the master bathroom toilet didn't work. The property manager was not flexible on check-in time and not very responsive. It took several tries to get her to respond to the toilet being broken. She did have a plumber come out that evening to fix the toilet, but overall the experience with the communication with her for the entire stay could have been better. Also, the plumber was not able to totally fix the toilet. The house overall met our needs in terms of having a place for our family of 8 to stay and cook for a few days in beautiful of Yosemite National Park.

Not a nice place.
This is not a "gorgeous designer cabin". This is an old place badly in need of updating, that smells strongly and exactly like a nursing home. I was fooled by the description and photos SO I am warning you. Everything is old - 1950s old, except the TV, which was missing a remote to make it work properly. The beds were flimsy and old. When my husband rolled over in bed, I felt like I was in a boat about to capsize. Even the fire information on the wall was old, with the wrong name of the cabin/mgt company, and wrong info about the fire extinguisher. After a few days there, I started to detect a faint smell of diarrhea permeating the master suite. The decor -both built-in and accessoried - and the smell work together to make you feel like you will turn the corner to find a little old lady napping in a wheel chair. The documentation posted around the house does not give helpful hints about how things work, but rather lists rules and warnings that you are in danger of being charged extra for leaving dishes in the dishwasher, etc. The warning notes along with the attitude of the property manager made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience to have there.
The housekeeping staff and maintenance staff were very responsive and friendly, and tried to be helpful but the TV never worked well. The cabin was nicely cleaned inside, except that the smell indicates a need for a deep cleaning that includes replacing carpet, etc. The air conditioning worked well and the water pressure in the shower was good.
Lovely spacious home, welcoming patio and living room, dining room with gorgeous view, well stocked kitchen . Text communication was prompt , kind and responsive. Near a nice hike, gas and two general stores open late. 50 minutes to the valley . We really enjoyed our stay , thank you!
Loved the location and the property. Only issue we have is the air conditioning never seemed to cool the house off. It would eventually cool off as the outside temperature dropped in the evening but the air conditioner did not seem to change the house temp very much during the late afternoon and early evening when we were there. We decided to use the overhead fans to help cool the house only to find that the ones in the bedrooms were covered in not just a light layering of dust but enough dust that it was in clumps. We ended up cleaning off the fan in the master bedroom so we could use it, but it was covered and quite dirty. Otherwise enjoyed our stay, the kitchen was nice, had everything we needed, and the deck outside was awesome. Would stay again, although maybe not in the heat of the summer.
We had rented this property last Sept but the Creek fire put them on evacuation alert so we cancelled. Technically we had cancelled inside of the cancellation window, but the property manager (Diane) and the owner were very helpful in getting a full refund from VRBO, although once VRBO understood the circumstances they returned my entire deposit without difficulty.
So we wanted to give it another try and stayed here July 2-6. The cabin is great, perfect sized for us. The location is wonderful. It has all you need to make your stay comfortable including a hair dryer which Diane didn't think was provided. (They could use a rubber spatula for scrambling eggs and maybe a few more forks to avoid running the dishwasher daily). The BBQ is new. The patio is amazing. TV and internet were perfect. The only problem was that the circuit breaker for the AC was fried due to a recent power surge or something and due to the holiday Diane could get no one out there to diagnose it until the day before we left. However, Diane did all she could do to get someone and even offered to drive out a part from Newport if I could figure out the problem while consulting my own AC guy over the phone. But I didn't have the tools to figure it out.
Unrelated I informed Diane that the microwave was failing so she told me she would immediately replace it to avoid it failing while someone else was renting the place. In short, Diane takes good care of her properties and her clients.
Funny thing, the address for this house and the one on the other side of the road up the hill is the same number but one is East Bruce Rd and the other West Bruce Rd. Essentially Bruce Rd. is a long loop. We didn't notice this initially and tried to get into the wrong place. Oops.
There is a small market right down the road that has a little bit of everything. Nearby there is a short hike to a waterfall. You can play in the river. If you do I recommend underneath the covered bridge of the Historical Village near the Wawona Hotel, under the south end of the bridge, plenty of shade. We all had a great time there and no one else was nearby.
For new visitors it is 45 minutes to the Valley floor and day use parking is at a premium during summer, so arrive early before 9:00, or come late after 3:00 when people are leaving.
We'll be back for sure.
From the Wawona area, you can stop at Glacier Point on your way to the valley. There's a little neighborhood market down the street and the Wawona store for any supplies you'll need.
You might need supplies as I found this house to be missing some basic amenities that most other rentals include these days.
The outdoor space was lovely and most accurately matched the pictures online.
We really enjoyed our stay! The set up was perfect for my family and a couple of my son’s w for a graduation trip. The house is about 45 minutes to the valley in Yosemite. Two small markets and a gas station in Wawona were fine for what we needed. Yosemite is one of the most beautiful national parks I’ve been to!
The cabin was very charming and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable- brand new air conditioner, washer and dryer, well equipped kitchen, large living room, nice dinning table...It was clean and well done. Our favorite was the backyard with the barbecue and the big rock!
This is a special and unique place and we are planning on booking it again in spring when the creek will be running through the property.
The living, dining and patio areas were beautiful and welcoming. We BBQ every night. We went to the main store in Oakhurst, about 30 mins drive, and bought our main groceries for the week. Any extra supplemental items we needed we went to the local small store around the corner from our stay.
The towels and wash cloth availability was generous for our two family total of six people.
There is no A/C but also was not needed. We cracked our windows opened in our bedrooms with lower temperatures in the evening.
The cabin was so cute. We loved the outdoor patio- perfect spot to drink and grill. The cabin was a great size for a group of 6. We had plenty of space.
