Lovely stay in York!
We had a fantastic stay here. The location is brilliant with walking distance to York and the space is very comfortable and well decorated. There were unfortunately a few helpful things missing (hand soap & bin bags) that meant we had to go buy these things which always feels frustrating, and such small things that nobody travels with, so bring these with you to avoid having to head out for them.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Great location and smart, well equipped house
Well presented house in quiet area, had everything we needed including smart TV . Bakery at the top of the road and ten minute walk to city walls by cathedral. Can park right by house on narrow street, would be ideal for cycling around the city or walking you dog. Had best sleep ever and great bath.
Stayed 6 nights in Apr 2024

Needs improvement.
The location is very good, it does come with parking. The entire house needs a deep clean. We had a number of issues, not good enough when you are paying so much.

Excellent Location
Lovely house only a short walk from the city centre, so ideal for leaving car parked. Clean and cosy, beds were comfortable too. Loved the modern upgraded bathroom. I even put a battery in the clock that has stopped

Christmas time in York
22 North Parade is very stylish, reasonably well kitted out even a teapot as an added bonus. Beds were comfortable, we barely used the front room preferring the snug sitting room off of the kitchen diner. The house was within walking distance of York centre and the buzz of Christmas despite the weather was amazing.

New years stay 22 North Parade
We had a pleasant stay at 22 North Parade over New years. The house is cosy and well furnished. Location is ideal, only a 10 mins walk into town and there are river walks approx 10-15 mins in the other direction. We would definitely recommend to friends Visiting York. Small things for lenders to review are, dog gate needs to be more secure, court yard gate is stiff and hard to open for dog access through to kitchen.

Lovely house, great location
Location super - minutes walk from the Museum Park/River and 10 minutes walk to city centre. Road very quiet, easy to park outside. House is extremely well furnished and comfortable. We ate all meals out so can’t comment on functionality of kitchen but seemed well equipped but the addition of a tea pot, kitchen roll and more than one tea towel would be good. A couple of very small areas need some attention to peeling paint and in shower the base sealant needs cleaning or replacement - but these are really small things and didn’t detract from our enjoyment of this property which overall is in excellent condition. Unfortunately weather wasn’t good enough for us to use the patio but looked like a nice outside space. Over all a lovely property and we would definitely stay here again next time in York.

Generally very good - though some issues need addressing.
Great location - a short walk from city walls, river and green spaces to walk the dog. House itself is comfortable but not luxury. There is a slight musty smell in the hallway - should be looked in to. A blocked drain resulting in kitchen sink water overflowing into the courtyard also needs attention. Sadly the house has no facility for recycling - we took our empty bottles home rather than put them in the one general purpose bin.

Beautiful apartment
This property is beautiful, comfortable & the location is perfect. Just a few steps to the Minster & the city center. It is immaculately clean. The only reason I gave the ‘customer service’ a 4 is because the washing machine was extremely difficult to figure out. I called the phone number given and talked to a pleasant lady, however, she only sent me a copy of the handbook which was no help at all. This isn’t the worst that could happen, but the problem wasn’t solved. The machine would wash but not dry. We were able to ‘air dry’ the clothes, but didn’t do another load as it became closer to our checking out. Other than that, this property is perfection. We would definitely return.

Lovely house-pity about the parking
We had a pleasant stay. The house is spacious and comfortable. The decor is modern.Lovely bathroom. The main bedroom is a good size and bright. The beds are comfortable. It is a quiet street at night in spite of being close to the city. The house has plenty of room for four people. The cooking facilities are good and the dining table in the kitchen is useful. The house was not quite warm enough ,but we were able to adjust the heating.Bedside lamps would be useful as would a light at the back door. Some of the furniture is a bit marked which might be from dogs sitting on the chairs ,but there are covers you can put on the seats ! There is a nice walk along the river for dogs. The house is easy to find ,but it is difficult to park. The on street parking made it difficult to park as cars park on both sides of the street leaving just enough space for a car to pass down the middle ,but vans delivering are very close to the parked cars with only inches to spare.when we arrived as there is a school at the end of the road and when the school is coming out the road is very busy.As check in time is four o look you are trying to park at the busiest time as the rest of the time the street is quiet but very narrow and it is not a one way system .We had to wait a good ten minute before we could get down the street to park the car.Cars often have to reverse back when they encounter a car coming in the opposite direction.Once parked we we walked into the city every day. We were very disappointed one morning to find our car ,which was parked within the bay ,had been hit by a vehicle and was damaged. This will be costly to repair. For this reason we would not stay here again which is a pity as the house was lovely.Perhaps safer to park in the nearest car park although you would have to pay, but it will be cheaper than repairing your car.

Disappointing Accomodation
Accomodation was not clean & we did not feel comfortable staying in the property. I have raised our concerns regarding the property & hopefully this will make a difference for other people who wish to stay there.

Stay at North Parade
Tired property that gives impression owners have completely lost interest. If 4 people were staying I think they would struggle with the amount of crockery provided. No teapot. Positives - location and comfy bed. Negatives - too many small niggles to name but enough to add up to an impression of not caring with minimal effort to make property up to a good standard.

Lovely little house, shame about the arrival
The property is in a great location and easily walkable to the centre of York. Lots of pubs and restaurants near by, and a very good butchers. The property has a parking permit provided, as parking in York is pretty tricky. Very comfortable and in a decent condition. There is a lack of hanging space in the bedrooms, although plenty of drawers. They have a log burning stove, but don’t provide even a small amount of wood to have a fire with, which would be a nice touch. The most disappointing issue was that the property was not cleaned upon our arrival and it was not ready until almost an hour after our check in time. Not useful when you have 2 small children trying to manage with cleaners everywhere. We requested Christmas decorations at the time of booking and reconfirmed these on paying the invoice. Both times told it would not be a problem and they will organise. But these were not in the house, and after complaining, arrived late the next day. Again not good when with small children the week before Christmas. The issues were sorted out eventually but they should never have happened, and the cleaning company shouldn’t be arriving at the check in time to clean the whole house. This is our third visit to North Parade and it is a very nice little house, shame about the poor organisation on our arrival this time.

A cosy, chic house, perfect location
We loved our stay in this lovely house, in central York. It's very tastefully decorated, well equipped and we particularly enjoyed the comfy beds and the log burner. It is a short walk to the centre of York so exploring the city was easy and convenient. We enjoyed wandering round the shops and sites, including the Jorvik Centre, Pho York (tasty Vietnamese food) and Brew York (fabulous beers!). The team at Stays York were extremely helpful. The only feedback to consider is that it would be much easier to be able to park outside so hopefully the parking permit will come through soon for other guests to benefit from. Meanwhile, it might be worth improving the parking instructions to include that you can't use the Ringo App in the main Marygate car park and that you pay when you leave. We also think it would be great to have a doormat at each door, as when it rained it made the house unnecessarily wet and soggy on the floors.

The location is ideal, you can walk into the city to see the Minster, Wall walks, museums etc. The house was very clean and tidy with good facilties, dvd microwave, dishwasher etc. Stays York we're prompt in refunding the deposit and the booking process was easy.

A lovely base to stay in York
A lovely, cosy and well appointed house to stay in during a cold snap. A quiet street. We came by train so a very handy location. Close to the town centre. Perfect for river walks and to pop to the excellent Minster Inn a few streets away.

Great Location, Lovely House
We had a week here in August. The location of the house is great, and everything you need is within a short walk. Parking on the street is much easier than we thought it would be. The street is very quiet and there are plenty of parking spaces. The house itself was very clean, and had everything we needed. The beds in particular were extremely comfortable - I had the best night sleep in a long time!
