The room on the (slightly-under)ground floor I was put into had windows looking to the parking area, thus basically I couldn't open the curtain most of the time, and regularly had some noise from the cars/people there. The room size is generous, but this (plus relatively stable Wi-Fi connection, when it wasn't down) was the main reason why I wasn't really disappointed. Because the room itself certainly needs improvement, it looks too cheap for it's price, almost like in a "kost" (local cheap rooms), and certainly not as nice as on the pictures. The location is OK, far from Malioboro but there are many warungs and restaurants around, and if you want to visit some upscale resto (or a bar) then head to Jl. Prawirotaman (just 7 minutes walk), which seems to be a "tourist area" second only to Jl. Sosrowijayan. Overall, the feeling of this area is much more "local" than the latter, yet you're certainly not in not in the middle of nowhere.
