When you’re not unwinding in the stunning landscape of Kimberley Hall, set off on a walk along the idyllic Tiffey Trail, meandering past majestic oaks and alongside the River Tiffey before arriving at the medieval market town of Wymondham (3.5 miles). Best known for its unusual twin-towered abbey founded in 1107, Wymondham is the ideal spot to recharge with a delicious dinner in a cosy pub or pick up locally grown ingredients at it’s regular farmers’ market. For the golfers of the group, Barnham Broom, Mattishall and Bawburgh Golf Clubs are 2-8 miles away, while kids will love visiting the animals at Banham Zoo and the dinosaur-themed park ROARR! and the Bug Parc within 15 miles; or heading half an hour east to set sail on the tranquil waters of The Norfolk Broads. Should you fancy a bit of shopping, historic attractions (including the well-preserved Norman Castle and Norwich Cathedral) or contemporary culture (with the multitude of galleries and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts designed by Sir Norman Foster), the lively foodie city of Norwich (10 miles) is a great day out.
Enter this gorgeous holiday home and kick off your walking boots in the large cloakroom before continuing to the spacious kitchen/dining room with its unique modernist sculptural design and exposed steel beams. When you want to relax, head out to the conservatory to watch the deer grazing in the adjacent fields or retire to the large sunshine-yellow living room with its huge velvet sofa, green marble fireplace and hand-carved Indian doorways. Warm toes in front of the crackling fire while children have fun with the toys in the playroom. Feel free to use the cloakroom or utility room to store walking gear or dry off your towels in the tumble dryer. There is also a convenient WC downstairs. Upstairs are six generous bedrooms (one twin, one double, one super-king and three zip-and-link bedrooms) decorated in vibrant colours with cosy linens. Adjacent to the shower room is the red bathroom overlooking the ancient oaks, whilst the south-facing Jack-and-Jill-style bathroom has beautiful views of the ancient walled gardens.
Outside, you can make the most of the glorious grounds by relaxing on the garden furniture while the children enjoy themselves in the enclosed garden or adjacent 1.5 acre private paddock. On sunny evenings, strike up the BBQ and tuck into dishes while you soak in rolling views of the historic landscape graced by five incredible ancient oaks. Ample private off-road parking is available.
